Craft - Craft Book Preview

Just when we were getting to the point that we thought our first two editions of the 'Super Super Series' of craft books would never appear... a copy of each - real finished, ready for the shops copies - were delivered to us at S+S HQ. The feeling was better than I could have even imagined! THEY'RE REAL! They are bright and professional and each have a lovely brown craft paper dust jacket that hide some amazing design work, photography and illustration that has been over a year in the making. Without giving too much away (because they are way better in real life) here is a sneak peak of 'Embroidery' and 'Printmaking' the first two books in the Super Super series published by GMC and soon to be sold all over (including here on our website)! I'd like to say a special thanks to the amazingly talented illustrator Anna-Kaisa Jormanain who has worked with us not only on all the illustrations for the books but from the very start of Super+Super HQ helping us realise our brand. x

Craft - Super+Super Craft Book Series

For those of you new to my blog or that just didnt know, along with my business partner She's Called Claire I am one half of Brighton's non profit creative and crafty studio space Super+Super HQ. We launched two and a half years ago a stones throw away from the sea front in the vibrant Laine's in Brighton UK where we took on a 3 story unused shop and renovated it, with the help of some friends, into our dream studio. Over the past couple of years alongside working our day jobs and other creative outlets we have worked relentlessly keeping our happy studio full of creative freelancers, craft, parties and cake. It hasn't always been an easy ride but I am so unbelievably lucky that my business partner is my best friend and that we have been able to support one another in the high's and low's of starting up and running a small creative business. In july last year whilst at a dear friend's birthday party we sipped a home made martini (you know, the extra strong kind that makes you blink whilst you drink it) and were then asked to pitch a S+S book....(Thanks Mel x x )

Today we can share the amazing news that we have been keeping quiet for a few months whilst we worked away at our HQ on many many lovely craft projects to bring to YOU  October 2014.
Yeah!

Edition one and two of the Super+Super series are Embroidery and Printmaking.
Each book contains 20 how to projects focusing on homewares, accessories and lifestyle products. The projects vary in difficulty starting with the lazy crafters section which contains projects perfect for a quick craft fix. We then have Weeknight Winners, Perpetual Crafters for slightly longer projects and Committed Crafters, ideal for long weekends or holidays.

We will be holding some events alongside the launch so keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for announcements. We will also be picking 5 lucky superheros to attend our launch party. Sign up to our newsletter here to be in a chance to win.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this process so far. You know who you are (and thanks for being ace at keeping secrets).
We’ll have some more sneak peeks coming your way on the blog over the next few months and be sure to follow us on Instagram @supersuperhq for some ‘behind the scenes’ action.

Throwback Thursday - The Start of S+S

Just over 2 years ago Claire of shes called claire fame and I set out on an exciting and slightly mammoth project soon to be widely known as Super+Super HQ. Things have evolved a lot since then and my how we have grown up! As any savvy women in business knows (or soon will do) you have to take the rough with the smooth and make alterations to that huge life changing plan when and where needed to make it a success. We are still going...

...And no doubt we still have lots to learn!
